Wells

Much of the water for human consumption is extracted from the ground through wells, which make it possible to reach deep aquifers that are less exposed to being affected by pollution and can be used directly as drinking water.

Such is the case of the ZMVM where it is Duration Timed that about 1,000 wells draw water to satisfy consumption. These systems count in some cases with up to 60 years in operation

At COET we have extensive experience in wells where we have carried out work from the design and drilling of a well to telemetry and automation. Part of the activities we carry out are the following:

  • Design:We carry out the studies and analyzes required to guarantee the viability of the project, we take into account the location, the type of drilling, sizing, equipment, materials, as well as water quality, average life and reasonable cost.

  • Drilling:Performing drilling according to the selected method in the design once the analysis of the subsoil is made, we have the latest technology machinery to carry out the work and our work we support with our high quality standards.

  • Sizing and equipment with high efficiency systems: :With the sizing we perform the selection of high efficiency motors and pumps which reduces energy costs and ensures a life time well above a conventional pump

  • Installation of speed variators:With the installation of the speed variators we avoid the transitory phenomena when switching the equipment on and off, since we program them with stop and start ramps appropriate to the system, type of well and its characteristics. A VDF also helps to guarantee the continuity of the process since before an energy shutdown, the equipment starts automatically and stays in the established configuration, saves energy by varying the frequency and extends the useful life.

  • Rehabilitation: After a well has been operating for a certain period of time, they decrease their efficiency, which can be recovered through rehabilitation. Our technical staff performs a diagnosis of the well and with this we establish the actions to be taken for their rehabilitation, with this we reduce the wear of the equipment and improve the electrical efficiency.

  • Wells:A branch of wells must guarantee that until the last drop extracted by pumping is taken to its point of delivery, this is done taking some considerations such as friction loads and losses, however, many times the required pressure is not established in each well so that it does not interfere with the efficiency of the line when integrating its flow, or on the contrary, the pressures of the line do not interfere so that a well can integrate the extracted water.

  • Instrumentation:It is very common for operators to not have full monitoring of the parameters that occur in their wells, for example the flow extracted, the pressure they handle and the dynamic and static levels of it, among other points. Through our experience, we select the best sensors to be able to perform the readings in the most efficient and reliable way and to be able to understand the behavior of the well.

  • Telemetry and telecontrol: After the instrumentation, it is highly recommended to transmit all the values obtained to a SCADA system, which is a centralized software specialized in data management, from here you can monitor and analyze in real time all the readings taken in field by sensors and know if there is any alarm or detail of interest, you can even perform actions such as turning on or off the pumping equipment of the wells.
